Tobias Hess is a Brooklyn-based writer, researcher and musician originally hailing from Los Angeles. His writing has appeared in PAPER, Dirt, and Gen Zero, his own Substack newsletter that seeks to unpack the relationship between recommendation algorithms and popular culture. He holds a BA in Music and Experimental Humanities from Bard College.
